Purpose

For the 9th year in a row, the Blue Knights LEMC, Law Enforcement and Fire Fighter motorcyclists have joined MRDC and MRDC's Rev. Jim DeHoog in bringing the joy of Christmas to some 120 mentally and physically challenged kids. It's an extraordinary event that will remain in your heart forever, knowing that you have helped bring Christmas cheer and presents to the kids living at this Center. They know that we love them and that they remain in our thoughts and prayers, never forgotten. We call on all Blue Knight Chapters, Firefighters, Law Enforcement, 99%er Motorcycle Clubs and Independents, Classsic Car Enthusiasts and friends, to join us in such a wonderful Christmas cause. The $10/$5.00 per one rider max entry fee will go toward financing this event, purchase of food items, gifts, to insure a great turnout which in turn imprives and enhances our effort each year! The small registration fee entitles each person to participate in the bike and classic car show, ride in the parade, distribute toys to the kids at MRDC, and includes a BBQ at Leon's Ice after the event and Auction. Please join us in this worthy cause. Thanks and God Bless.

History

This event actually started 10 years ago by members of the San Antonio Police Burglary Unit whose members consisted of Capt. Patrick Murin, Retired Det. Teddy Stewart, Det. Robert Stan Cunningham and Sgt. Bill Lowry. Today this event continues thanks to the efforts of Law Enforcement, Firefighters, 99% er Motorcycle Clubs, Classic Car Enthusiasts, Local Businesses and caring citizens. Thank you all.

Any Toy Donations or Monetary Donations are always welcome and will be greatly appreciated. All checks should be made out to: "Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Texas Chapter 12," and any other charitable donations above and beyond the entry fee should be made out to " Mission Road Develomental Center." Thanks San Antonio Hispanic Officer's Association, SAPD Benevolent Fund Organization, and the SAPOA for your annual support and caring!  May God Bless each member!

reference notes: rained night before, cold 54 degrees, damp, cloudy. 128 bikes, approx 250 people attended BBQ, served 8 cases of sausage (50 per case). combined raffle and 50/50 drawing at $2 per ticket. Suggest we sell raffle tickets at time of registration, then once more prior to drawings.

"Wild Bill" -  President BKTX12

Thanks also to Shiela, Cyndy, and Johnny Rivas, owners of Leon's Ice House and all Leon's patrons, SAPD Chaplain Paul Worley, Bike and Classic Car judges from the Wild West MC; Doc Biggers and Frank Guerrero plus BKTX12's own, Big Larry Colson, ExpDesigns & Bumper Ynostrosa. Thanks to our friends at City of San Antonio Waste Management, you're great! But most of all thanks to the big three Blue Knight Chapters in the San Antonio, Helotes, and Schertz area; Chapters 4, 12, and 25 for making MRDC a yearly and wonderful experience by  sharing yourselves with those less fortunate during this time of giving and celebration. May God bless all of you for making this Christmas special for the kids at MRDC, and we hope we can make future years even more cheerful and enjoyable,  including the great staff there at Mission Road Developmental Center and Chaplin Dehoog. As to Chapter 12's organization team, those who came together to plan, prepare, agonize, meet, agonize, solicit support, call, agonize again, then execute this year's event; Richard "Skeeter" Esqueda, Oscar "Necio" Salinas, Nancy "Li'l Z" Zermeno, Daniel "Dangerous Dan" Conde, Stan "Dutch" Worley, Ray "Trashman" Castillo, Bob "Blacksheep" Swett, Larry "Big Larry" Colson, and Marvin "Wild Turkey" Cannon, T-Bird, One Eyed Jack, Tigger, Hooch, and Hawkeye...job well done! I too was in there a time or two! Thanks again everyone!

I know I left someone out who deserves equal praise and thanks, so please let me know whom I forgot so I can make corrections appropriately!
