It is better to light candles than to curse the darkness.
It is better to plant seeds than to accuse the earth.
The world needs all of our power and love and energy,
and each of us has something that we can give.
The trick is to find it and use it, to find it and give it away.
So there will always be more. We can be lights for each other,
and through each other’s illumination we will see the way.
Each of us is a seed, a silent promise,
and it is always spring.”

Tribute to our Heroes

We shall always remember our HEREOS, who have laid down their lives for our country's sake! We are referring to the great soldiers in the US Military,  and our country's allies. We also acknowledge and honor Veterans from all wars, including our current active-duty soldiers serving in the Middle East, or standing a post around the world. Thank You ALL! We also equally acknowledge and honor our Domestic Heroes, those Law Enforcement, Fire Fighter and Emergency Response Professionals around the country, who continue to live and work in harms way, and of course we remeber those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our citizen's sake. Sometimes heroes come from the most unlikely sources, those who may not be Public Servants per say, but who are never-the-less are filled with the American spirit, and who rise to the occassion when our countrymen or homeland is threatened. Blue Knights fit in most of these categories. To those private American Citizens who have made the committment  to defend our land at all costs, to help prevent other episodes such as those we experienced on September 11th, 2001, we honor you as well and ask God's blessing upon you. Because of all these extraordinary heroes, we here at home and abroad, we by their sacrifices are able to live free, with dignity, free to worship as we will, and continue to "Ride with Pride!" We will therefore continue supporting and defending our Country, serving our Communities, volunteering for the less fortunate, and supporting our President.  May God bless America!

A Biker's Prayer
Dear Lord,
As I begin this run today,
Please watch over me along the way,
Help me to do my very best,
To complete this run with all the rest,
Yet in this race of life I know,
I've made mistakes and stumbled so,
But because of Christ's great love for me,
His death on the cross has set me free,
So as I continue along the way,
Help me to live the Christ-like way,
Though,I'm not perfect by any means,
AMEN

Blessing of the Bikes
On the last day of most large motorcycle rallys, in particular the morning of departure back to each perspective rider's home, a tradition has become popular amoung the rally participants...the Blessing of the Bikes. On many occassions, that departure date happens to be Sunday morning, when these bikers are not able to attend church to worship God. Therefore, to honor our Lord on the sabbath, pray for a safe journey home, which in many cases may involves hundreds of miles, this ceremony takes place. The "Tribe of Juda MC" have in the past provided Club Chaplains to these events, who conduct the ceremony, lead everyone in prayer, and many times provide participants with Biker Bibles. It's a great experience! There's another great source for spiritual comfort, and that organization is right here in San Antonio. The group is called "Shields for Christ." It's made up of active and retired Law Enforcement Officers and their familes. Members hail from various agencies. Check them out by clicking on the Shields for Christ Badge below, and make sure you leave a note for Lenny Paccione, the President, retired SAPD Officer, and an uprooted New Yorker!

Prayer Requests

It's not dying that makes one a hero... it is how one lived that makes him or her a hero!
